MontenaSoft on DrupalCon 2008 – stay tuned to blog!

DrupalCon is the most important event of Drupal Community, it happens once a year in Europe and this year it is taking place in Szeged, Hungary, from 27.Aug until 31 Aug. We are expecting to find a lot of very interesting people there, and to get some insider information about the future development of Drupal, which is, after all, one of the most powerful content management system on the world and also our preferred platform for Web developing.

MontenaSoft new Look&Feel comes

Things are warming up... we have finally found some time to change the look & feel of our portal and to write some text that has been overdue for a very, very long time. In the next couple of days, MontenaSoft will get a brand new face, and also (we hope) some interesting new entries. Stay tuned – a lot of things have happened "under the hub" this summer at MontenaSoft, and in the next few days I’ll write some news entries.

Bang! The starting gun went off. Later that day Jon posted Drupal is RAD to his blog about how impressed he was with Drupal: "In an hour, there have been over 1,200 comments."

Drupal vs ExpressionEngine - comparison

Recently one client ask me to do comparison of Drupal and ExpressionEngine, two well know CMS. Comparison lasted 3-4 days and it was also informative to me because, before that I never heard about EE - it appears it is commercial CMS that is very capably and it is interested to see how Drupal will compete with commercial product.

Dries has launched another Drupal service - Mollom

After launching Acquia, which is a company that offers commercial Drupal services, Dries (founder of Drupal) is now launching new service called Mollom.

Mollom will be similar to Askimet and basic functionality will be to stop spam on your Drupal site. But Mollom will be more then that:

Drupal 6.1 security fix

New version of Drupal is out. Upgrade is very recommended because this version fixed cross site scripting bug that can allow users to inject arbitrary HTML and script code in certain pages. Also couple of minor bugs are fixed.

This was a nice chance to test new update module that is now shipped in core of Drupal install. When I went to admin/build/modules link and hit check available updates nice red message warn me about security update:
