Here is a very nice article that review new features of KDE development version 4.1. There are so many news and so many enchantments over 4.0 version that that is simply astonishing. It seams that version 4.1 is already very stable. I sure hopes that when it arrive we can all say goodbye to god all KDE 3.5 :))
There are certainly not many Linux viruses (at least compared to Windows platform) but it seems that Linux viruses have very long life. After 6 years Rst-B is still active and not only that, it also is responsible for infecting of 70% of Linux servers:

Yesterday KDE team released last release candidate RC2 of a new KDE 4.0, so I can't wait 11 January for release of stable version. I didn't yet test RC candidates (don't have free time) but just looking to screen shots,
Today I tried to connect my two boxes (one Windows XP and one Kubuntu) over Samba. Eh....
(Note that on same Kubuntu box I have also installed Windows, and sharing files and printers worked without any problems with two Windows machines).
I started "System settings" in Kubuntu and tried to start File sharing - error window popped up with a message saying that I do not have installed SMB and NFS. Well I know that SMB means Samba but I wonder how would some linux newbie would felt after reading this....
Well I don't think so. Last couple of year we all saw big headlines of Linux evangelist saying next year will be "that year" for Linux, etc. And this year is no different :)
Well, 2007 is coming to end and lets see how OS-es will finish this year :) In January Windows took 93.33% of PC marked followed by Mac 6.22% and Linux with 0.35%. In December we have Windows with 92.42%, Mac on 6.80%, Linux with 0.57% and we have a new interesting player on market iPhone with 0.09%.
