Travellers Antique Guide is probably one of the most complex Drupal projects that MontenaSoft have participated. Out task was to develop custom Drupal code to achieve the functionality that could not be covered through Community modules. Besides, we have advised our client in numerous issues that affect client portal, like Drupal Core configuration, installation of contrib modules, Drupal administration etc.

The main idea behind Travellers Antique Guide is to offer a portal for antique vendors, shops and interested individuals. To achieve this, we have created following features for the site:

Access to large  database of registered vendors

(over 10,000 entries)

Extensive Search Capabilities for logged users:

• Proximity search: based on ZIP code or partial address
• Vendor search:  based on of entered state/city name
• Saving Search: a query like "antique shops in a circle of 50 miles around my hometown" could be saved for further use. In the future we plan automatic email notification if a newly entered vendor will satisfy one of the saved search criterions.    
• Saving and organizing favourite vendors in a folder-like structure (this is for instance interesting for users who make regular trips to Florida to visit the antique shops there) 

Extensive Google Map Integration

• Automatic geocoding of vendor addresses and cashing of vendor geocoding data for future proximity searches
• Automated reports with map data: a user from Chicago can select one of his "favourite vendors" folders (let’s say, one with the title Furniture Vendors in South Florida) and create an automated email with vendors data and maps how to find them   
• Find vendors near to my travelling route: if our user from Chicago wants to travel with a car to South Florida, it could be interesting to list the vendors that are 10 miles away from selected travelling route.
• Trip planning: it is also possible to enter several vendors in a list and create a route and maps, if a user is planning an extensive trip.

Dedicated vendor & user admin section:

• User/Vendor management through special search and managing capabilities
• Mail campaigns
• Import of vendor data from external file sources

Payment system

• Integration with 2checkout.com payment system

Although the first part of developing is almost finished, the future of this project and Drupal will bring new challenges, like

• tighter integration of our custom modules with Events and Organic Group modules,
• creating extensions to vendor base to include garage shops,
• including also other places of interest for the people who are using the system to plan their "antique trips"
