Comunidade Segura

Comunidade Segura is a social grassroot NGO from Rio de Janerio, Brasil. Their primary goal is reducing of violence through providing support for community based education projects. Comunidade Segura is primarily concerned in all the problems of fire arm control and violence in socially deprivated districts of Rio de Janeiro, as well as in communicating useful experiences with other NGOs in South America. For that purpose, they have developed a Drupal 4.x site that has provided a backbone for providing news and education information.

However, they experienced several problems in the process of upgrade to Drupal 6. Some non-standard Drupal practices have been applied to their Drupal 4.x (simultaneous changes of Drupal Core and large number community provided Drupal modules have been applied, among other problems). MontenaSoft has analyzed the source of their Drupal installation and has provided a thorough code report (static code scan) about the problems in current system that they should communicate with their provider of Drupal solution. MontenSoft also advised Comunidade Segura how to communicate with company that should have provided the upgrade (after delay of more then 6 months in providing more or less standard community features) Comunidade Segura finally managed to get update and some of long missing community features and upgrade to Drupal 6 approximately 1,5 month after the MontenaSoft report about current situation was issued.
