Where is Drupal going?

Here are couple of nice interviews with Dries in which he speaks about future of Drupal and Acquia. First one is from cnet, and second is from webmonkey.

Among many nice things here are couple of them I would like to point out:

  • Acquia will provide certification and training programs for drupal developers
  • Drupal 7 will come with next nice features in core:
    • test framework
    • support for wysiwyg editors
    • support for cck
    • support for views
    • new db abstraction layer
    • usability improvements for admins that make it easier to configure Drupal
