Graphic Design and Drupal Theming

While it is possible to use Drupal displaying capabilities “out of the box”, Drupal strength lies also in the possibility of altering web site content anyway you like it.

Graphic design is more subjective in its nature then programming and development, because it is much harder (or even impossible) to define what is “good design”. For this reason, we have created an iterative process that helps our customer to save time and money, and still get impressive results on their web site.

Gathering Graphical Information is the process of identifying the requirements and wishes of all project stakeholders. The outcome of this dialog is Design Specification that gives information about design guidelines.

Visual Design Iteration

Our graphic designers will take Design Specification as a base for brainstorming process about design, and will produce several ideas that implements Design Specification guidelines. To produce a design that satisfies both functionality and aesthetic criteria, we work together with our customers through a number of iterations until the design has been finally approved. We can repeat this process for other important pages in the system (like portfolio, web shop, company profile, etc.) when required.

Drupal Theming

After graphic design is successfully developed, we must translate those images to functional Drupal Theme. This involves the process of creating Cascading Style Sheets, as well as creating Drupal Templates. If other important pages in system have designs of their own, we will create custom PHP/Template code for those sub-pages, as well as other standardized Drupal techniques. All results will be tested across various operating systems, browsers and screen resolutions.

We use fully-compliant XHTML coding techniques, which optimize your web page for accessibility and search engine ranking. We never do the hacking of Drupal core, or apply other non-standard coding practices.
