Ogranic group module was recently updated and one of new feature is integration with Panels module through og_panels. Thats means that now groups admin can set extremely flexible page layouts for their groups. So you can easily build something like this (screenshot taken from drupal-dojo group):

With this new features it is even more easy to create social networking sites with drupal.

All this great development is promising that 2008 will be very exciting year for Drupal community. Dries founded Acquia, Drupal 6 is out, and the rest of major modules like og, panels, views and cck are almost ready for version 6 (some are already stable and some in beta version).
I am very glade that here in montenasoft we chose Drupal to be our main platform for developing web sites and applications, this choice is clear winner fro us:))
