Will 2008 be finally Linux Desktop Year

Will next year be finally Linux Desktop year?

Well I don't think so. Last couple of year we all saw big headlines of Linux evangelist saying next year will be "that year" for Linux, etc. And this year is no different :)

Today I have read Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols post in which he highlight some very strong/interesting points in current OS situations. I would also love to see that Linux is taking more space in Desktop PC market, but to "take over the low end of PCs" - this is something that is not going to happen next year, and also not going to happen next 2-3 years certainly.

We will certainly see growing of Linux OS and open source programs in next months and years. But predicting when and how will Linux take some part of IT market is almost mission impossible in turbulent market like IT is ;)
